Welcome everyone. I’m the author of The Loving Husband Trilogy (Copperfield Press), a paranormal/historical love story set in Salem, Massachusetts. Books One and Two in the series, Her Dear & Loving Husband and Her Loving Husband’s Curse, have been Amazon Best-Sellers in the Literary, Historical Fiction, Occult, and Romance-Vampire categories (thank you!). If you’re not familiar with the books, you can read excerpts here. Her Loving Husband’s Return, Book Three of the Loving Husband Trilogy, is now available.
My other novels are Victory Garden, set during World War I and the Woman’s Suffrage Movement; Woman of Stones, a Biblical novella based on a story from the New Testament; and My Brother’s Battle, a tale of the American Civil War. Victory Garden and Woman of Stones have been Amazon Best-Sellers in the Historical Fiction and Religious Fiction categories (thank you!).
I received my B.A. and M.A. degrees in English from California State University, Northridge. Since 2000, I’ve been the Executive Editor of The Copperfield Review, a literary journal for readers and writers of historical fiction, named one of the top sites for new writers by Writer’s Digest and winner of the Books and Authors Award for Literary Excellence. In my capacity at Copperfield, I’ve had the privilege of interviewing such notable authors as John Jakes, Jean M. Auel, and Jeff Shaara. My short fiction and articles have appeared in journals such as Moondance, Muse Apprentice Guild, The Maxwell Digest, The Paumanok Review, Wild Mind, CarbLite, Writers Weekly, and ViewsHound.
I’ve taught writing to students aged 10 to 60, and I’ve taught creative writing and writing historical fiction seminars at Learning Tree University, UNLV, and the Las Vegas Writers Conference. In October 2011, I was the guest speaker at the Henderson Writers Group. I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada–it’s true, people really live here.
As a long-time teacher, there’s nothing I love more than sharing what I’ve learned about writing. Under the writing category you’ll find tips about topics such as writing a first draft and writing historical fiction. When I was writing the second book in the Loving Husband Trilogy, I studied everything I could find about writing the second book in a series. If you’d like to read my guest blogs, interviews, and reader reviews, check the Links page. There’s also some great guest posts and interviews on the Guest Authors page. You can use the Contact Me form to drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you.
When I’m not teaching or writing (which isn’t often), I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and finding great vegetarian recipes since I love to cook. I also practice yoga, and I’ve been known to shake my stuff at Zumba classes. I have a special affection for belly dancing, and I may practice a shimmy or two while brushing my teeth in the morning.
Thank you for joining me. I’m glad you’re here.
