Researching and Writing During a Busy Term
I can verify that life as a PhD candidate is a lot of work. There are times when, after long days of researching, writing, and teaching courses at my university, I feel as if I’m lacking even one viable brain cell. I can walk into the supermarket for milk and leave 15 minutes later with everything but milk. Still, I can cite research about creativity and storytelling from 1984 off the top of my head, no problem.
While I’ve been getting a lot of work done, I’ve also been doing my fair share of procrastinating, as is my way. Recently, I saw this list from Jack Kerouac about how to live like a poet. This is just the reminder I needed about the importance of creativity.
I hope you find some inspiration in it too.
